Okay - so google analytics is pretty stinking cool. if you don't know what it is then let me explain. If you are a business (or a random dude who blogs sometimes because you can't scrapbook to save your life) then it will track your website for you for free. it will tell you how many people have visited the site each day, month etc. it will tell you where those people live (state and/or country of origin,) how long they stay on the site etc.
The truth is that we started the blog for ourselves and we continue to write in order to preserve our own memories. On the other hand, it would be a lie if we did not admit that we enjoy sharing our life's adventures with the other four people that read this as well. So here is to those that have made these statistics possible! Namely, my mom, my wife, and myself. We usually click on the blog a few times a day to see if we have written anything new. I maybe should thank my brother also who may be using mirrored computers or some other sort of tech geek thing to make me think someone in Africa and South America are actually getting to our blog somehow. For the four of us - this post is for you! The Readers!
tracking the site for exactly 6 months now.....
Highest traffic day - November 3rd, 2008 55 visitors. two different posts on the evening of Nov 2nd - November Begining and October Ending
Number of states who have viewed - 40! (well, 39 I guess and a few that it couldn't tell where they were coming from) I really should stop this post at this point. If you are a betting person the you may want to put some money on my wife reading this and then password protecting the blog. This is the only disadvantage to analytics.

We have NOT been viewed in - AK (it is because we are anti-Palin), LA, MS, SC, KY, WV, VT, ME, NE, ND, and RI. Come on Rhode Island people! Help us out!
Maybe once we get to all 50 states we'll start selling something along with our humorous anecdotes.
Number of countries who have viewed - 10

USA, Japan (Hi Sachie!), Ireland, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago (what the?), Canada, Nigeria, UK, Austria, Germany. (jer - could you get someone in Australia to click on my blog so we can be on every continent?)
Mr./Ms. Trinidad and Tobago - could you please make yourself known to us so we know if we need to password protect our blog or not? Thanks so much. if you can't remember - here is the link to what you read.
Most viewed post - Red Neck Funeral has far and away been the most viewed (122 times.) It helped that a few of my cousins linked to it. (this also brought some international traffic as well I think.)
For us the blog has always been about documenting and I think it is interesting to see how the blogging world continues to grow and change and it thought these statisics were interesting to note as part of our documenation.
I know there are others out there that track your sites. What do they look like? I'm curious.
