November beginning

I took a memorial drive up to Alta today with my brother, David, and found snow! it's coming...
Later, we had some lovely family time (missed you Jane and BenD) - little Lainey took this photo. very convenient.
also, some lovely fondue and white grape juice and memories of Mom (the batteries in my camera were dead by then, otherwise I would have taken a pic for you, Jane.) I don't know how it happened, but it feels like my years start and end in November now, and I'm feeling hopeful looking toward the next one coming.
and here's something my dad (who does happen to be clever and creative, unlike me) surprised me with this week. and I, now that the surprise has worn off, am crazy about it. (turns out I'm not good at being surprised. Jim knows this about me, but I'm still learning.) my dad put my mom's jewelry on charm bracelets for me and my sisters. not traditional. very eclectic. just like my mom.

I love that picture with the snow on the trees. That is my favorite part of winter - the fresh snow on every little branch of the trees before it has a chance to fall off. So pretty.

I LOVE the bracelet. It's beautiful. And what a beautiful gift. Love you guys!

I was thinking of your mom on Sunday too. It's also Grandma Garff's birthday and so a day to remember two amazing women. And now add Jane's milestone for which I'm sure she is so grateful!
Like all the other comments - LOVE the bracelet. Leave it to a Ryberg woman to have enough jewelry to spread among her children. What a treasure.

Your dad has always been an "idea man"! I remember him at my mother's sewing machine when he was only in elementary school making bags for his marbles. And what about making all the bags to contain your stuff for the first time we went backpacking with you to Notch Lake? Quite the guy.

And your mom? Been thinking about her all week too. What a dear sister-in-law and friend. She is so proud of you. I remember the autumn after Romney was born when I drove away watching her hold him on the porch as you both sat on the swing and Lainey climbed all over the handrail...the leaves were everywhere, colorful and huge.

Love you!
