this picture cracks me up. notice the strained smiles - it makes me wonder if this was the eighth try or something to take this darn picture with squirmy kids goofing around. I relate.
the sisters with mom in Italy, 2003. this was the early summer after my mom's diagnosis and completion of her first round of treatments (hence the hat, covering up the bare head.) my parents and other siblings had just finished touring through europe with my sister's college choir when I joined just the girls for a few more weeks of talking, train rides, good food, beautiful country, and getting walked into the ground by our mom.
love those smiles.

love you Mom!

oh marie! I just want to run over to your house and hug you and cry with you. You are an amazing woman, and I'm sure you can attribute it to your wonderful mother. She is beautiful. I too love your parents smile at alta. (don't know if it's the happiest place on earth though! :) ) I am so grateful to know you. I hope that many wonderful memories of your mother are shared today!
love you. awesome quotes.
Marie - You are amazing. Your parents raised you well and seem very amazing too. Your mom was a pretty lady and I remember her being very nice (from a short small interaction with her). I admire your strength and how well you seem to deal with such a hard situation. You are my hero. :)

that picture of your mom at alta looks just like jane! we were thinking of you cute girls this weekend. lots of love from your haglund family! xoxo.
Sweet tribute to your mom. The quotes were very fitting for her. You have the most wonderful family. I loved the picture of your parents with you and Ben. In that picture, I think your mom looks just like Catherine and you look like Laine! I dunno...maybe that's just me...
I love you!
What a great post; your mom is so beautiful. Seeing these pictures makes me think of all the different versions of ourselves. Your mom as a parent of young kids, as a spouse, as a cancer survivor and traveler...and you as a little rascal with glasses. As usual, I feel lucky to know the whole Curtis clan.
