Laine, of course, is the hurricane, our in-home force of nature, posing here with Old Faithful in the background. if only we could figure out how to get her to sleep... or eat... or do anything, really. her "middle name", if you ask her, is Big Mess, and she prefers it to her nickname of Laine the Hurricane. both are appropriate and entirely fitting.
Romney, here, is the wombat. Wombat, Rombat, Rombud, Romulus, Rom-dizzle, or, if you're Laine, "Wommy." Sounds a lot like "Mommy." confusing. Doesn't he kind of resemble a wild animal (a friendly wild animal, at least) in this picture? I wouldn't say he's furry, but he growls and chases with the best of them, and you should see him when he gets those plastic vampire teeth going. very wild.so here we are, in our new home. welcome!
p.s. random quirk of the day: romney insisted on wearing his bike helmet (which is about 4 times the size of his actual head - and that's saying something!) ALL morning long. I made him take it off to fit in his chair to sit at the table, and he wanted to put it on again as soon as he got down, and then I also made him take it off to get in the car to take laine to school. he was SO sad. do you think he has a sort of sixth sense like animals do when crazy weather or earthquakes are coming? is this a sign?

Cath - what are you talking about? i offer a little creative idea (which of course turned out to be genius) and suddenly a new word is created...jimcontrol. also, I really don't know what you are taking about.
so i'm so happy that you've moved. if you hadn't i would never know that you had existed online. thanks jim for the email update. and you guys are impressive...blogging in all your free-time. such great photos, fun stories, love it.
oh, and thanks for introducing me to jemily's blog...had no idea on that one either! i have a feeling i'm going to be WAY behind the times on getting out the blog.
cath reminded me that I ommitted some of romney's important nicknames. so.
ADDENDUM: Romney also is called (I wish I could say "responds to" but the only thing he is currently responding to is chocolate milk or smarties.) Rombom, Rombombadil, and laine's adaptation: Romnil. no idea where that one came from.
